Release Notes: July & August 2024
8/12/2024 Updated to include the Windows App version number and bug fix details for that release.
SafetyChain is excited to announce the July & August 2024 monthly release!
Before we get to the release details, we want to highlight a few announcements that were made these past two months in case you missed them:
The New SafetyChain Status Page: Your Source for Real-Time System Updates - Last month, we introduced a new resource called the SafetyChain Status Page, a dedicated microsite that provides you the ability to quickly check the real-time health status of SafetyChain’s various components – if the site shows that all systems are operational, you’ll know to begin troubleshooting within your own local environment. If you’re ready to learn more about the Status Page, we invite you to take this self-guided tour that will walk you through some of the key features.
2024 Release Calendar - To provide better visibility into upcoming system updates and aid in your planning, we've shared the remainder of the 2024 Release schedule for the new monthly feature enhancements, bug fixes, and scheduled maintenance activities. This visual captures our monthly Product Release Notes & Deployments for both the Train and Live environments. You may also view any changes to this via this Knowledge Base article.
To avoid confusion, and ensure our month-based naming convention remains aligned with the actual calendar, the release notes for July and August have been merged into a single “July & August” Monthly Release. The next upcoming release will be our September Monthly Release, deploying to Train on 9/8 & to Live on 9/15.
Introducing the Form Designer Walk-Through Guides! - Beginning on Friday, 7/12/2024, users accessing the Forms Manager were greeted by a guide on creating a new form. This guide, containing a step-by-step tour, is designed to walk new users through how to create a basic check form, as well as more experienced users who may want a refresh on how to create a new form. This tour generally takes less than 5 minutes to complete and requires no action on your part to enable. We hope this helps provide even more guidance on tips & tricks for using the Form Designer!
July & August Version Numbers
There are no mobile releases this month; however, ensuring your devices have the most recent SafetyChain App version is highly advised. If you are using an old version of the SafetyChain app for your mobile submissions, you are at risk for unexpected behavior and will not be able to take advantage of all new mobile features. For customers using MDM to update the apps, please use the below links:
Features Released
Admin
(LINK) Export All Functionality for Users: A new “Export All” functionality has been implemented (in addition to the already existing 'Export” function) in the 'User' module. This newly added functionality will allow the user to export the list of all the existing users in one go, saving them the effort and time of scrolling through various pages and then exporting the data.
Charts
(LINK) Control Limits 'OFF' Functionality: Users will now be able to turn off the "Control Limits" (UCL and LCL), regardless of the "Active SPC Color Bands" being turned on, to better visualize their required metrics.
OEE
(LINK) Simplified Downtime Event Edits: Added a “MODIFY” button to edit Downtime Event duration and to Void Downtime Events from the Event Details section. Previously, users had to open and edit the Start and End Downtime records which often led to errors. This enhancement improves user experience and leads to fewer errors.
(LINK) Simplified Adding New Downtime Events: Added a “Add New Downtime Event” button to easily create a new downtime event. Previously users had to submit Downtime Start and End events. This enhancement decreases the steps required from 28 to 5.
Supplier Compliance
(API) Questionnaire Records Update for RDEA 2.0: Supplier Questionnaires without a location will now be included in the Record Data Extract APIs (RDEA) 2.0 results and can be filtered as needed.
(LINK) Migration Tool Enhancements: We are continuing to improve the migration tool used to move customers to the new Supplier Compliance Management module to ensure a smooth transition. Ready to streamline your supplier onboarding process and simplify the management of your supplier requirements? Check out this Spotlight Post for more information on how you can begin migrating today and learn of all the ways this module can benefit your business!
(LINK) Edit Requirements Details: Users can now edit additional requirement details after creating a requirement. The new editable fields include:
The approval workgroup: Over time, you may wish to restructure the workgroups you have in SafetyChain. With this enhancement, you can now edit the group responsible for approving each document from Suppliers to match the appropriate work group.
Due in Days: The ‘Due In’ field determines how much time a Supplier has to complete a task before it is considered 'past due'. This field can now be edited to allow for more or less time for all Suppliers who need to complete the requirement.
(LINK) ‘Assigned By’ Displayed in Supplier Compliance: A new 'Assigned By' field has been added to the Supplier Compliance Management pages and filtering, displaying the username of the person who associated the Supplier or item to a requirement. This new column and filter provide an additional way to find requirements needing your approval in LINK.
(LINK) Document Name Displayed in Linked Documents: In addition to showing the Document Folder name, we now also display the Document Name in the Linked Documents section of Supplier Compliance. This provides a deeper level of context on what the document is, especially in cases where the document is not associated with a Document Folder.
(Web/LINK) Create Links When Approving a Document: Whether approving a document in LINK or the Inbox, you can now manage additional links to the document. A document can be linked to any resource, location, or user to create valuable additional relationships, such as if a document applies to multiple items or is only valid for certain locations.
(LINK) New Item Location Filter: Within Supplier Compliance, you can now filter by Item locations as well as Supplier locations. This filter helps to quickly focus in on Suppliers and requirements with items related to a specific location.
Bugs Resolved
(LINK) Resolved an issue on the LIVE environment where the Supplier settings page refreshed after pressing enter in the search box. This fix will now allow users to carry out any relevant search in the menu without refreshing the page.
(LINK) Resolved an issue in Filter Charts where hovering over individual points on the line displayed incorrect information. The correct information is now displayed when the user hovers over any individual point on the line.
(Windows App) Resolved an issue that in rare occasions resulted in a field being marked as incomplete and displays an error message to input a value before a submission was made.
Monthly Logistics
Release Dates: We intend to release these enhancements into the Live environment on Sunday, 08/11/2024. This will impact both Web & LINK, and there are no mobile app releases this month.
Downtime: SafetyChain’s monthly release cycle requires one window of downtime, which takes place during the Web release and effects both the Web and LINK applications. During the 90 minutes of downtime, users may continue to operate in Offline Mode via the Mobile Apps (learn more about this here). Downtime does not occur during the LINK release.
This month’s downtime start & end times are as follows:
