AUTHOR: The SafetyChain Team

Seasoned SafetyChain users know that Forms are an essential part of our digital plant management platform. Well-designed and thoughtfully managed Forms lead to good data capture, and the better your data is, the more informative and actionable your analysis and reporting abilities will be. It’s all connected.

That’s why we’re excited to announce the availability of our brand new Forms Management module in LINK!

Why is This Big News?

Gone are the days of bouncing back and forth between the Form Designer, Browser, and Forms Manager modules in the Web application. This new module consolidates all of the functions required to create, edit, and manage your Forms into a single, easy to use location in LINK.

If you have been following along with our Unified Platform initiative, you know that we have previously released Users Management and Resources Management in LINK in order to deliver a streamlined user experience. What you may not know is that both Users and Resources were the stepping stones we needed in order to deliver this new Forms Management module; it also happens to be one of the most critical and complex elements of the SafetyChain platform. Needless to say, we are thrilled to be officially delivering this new module to customers in July!

What Are the Details?

The new Forms Management module in LINK consolidates critical functionality that was previously accessed via three separate areas in the Web application:

  • Form Designer: Create a Form and access drafts

  • Browser: Edit Forms

  • Forms Manager (Web): Manage existing Forms, view Form version history, view Form release notes/dates, view drafts in progress, add in-app charting, add location filtering

But we didn’t stop there. Not only are all of those capabilities housed in a single module, but we’ve also added a few enhancements to improve the user experience, including:

  • In the new Forms Manager grid view, Users can easily see if a Form has Location Filtering enabled and whether or not it has any Dynamic Flows or In-App Charts associated with it, making it easier to view critical data ahead of editing a Form

  • Additionally, Users can directly navigate to edit any Dynamic Flows, In-App Charts, or Locations associated with that Form and add new ones

  • Forms can also be enabled/disabled, edited, opened for completion, released, previewed and have ad-hoc task assignments all in one management screen

  • Finally, Users can navigate to the following inner-module screens with ease:

    • Unreleased Forms

    • In-App Charting Templates (this opens a tab for Chart Builder to create In-App Chart Templates)

    • Location Filtering Report

    • Form Transfer Utility

Get Ready to Explore the New Forms Management Module!

We hope you’re as excited as we are about this new module! It will officially go live in the July release but, as we shared in the June release notes, Forms Management is currently available in Train and we have also included a video tour at the end of this post. We urge you to take some time to familiarize yourself with the new module and explore how it will improve your ability to engage with Forms moving forward.

Finally, as always, we welcome your feedback! If you have any ideas for how to improve Forms Management, we encourage you to sign up for our User Feedback Group to engage with our team directly – we’re currently scheduling more feedback sessions to gather input, so it’s easy to get involved!
