Windows App Update: Supported Document Types

If you have the Windows App installed on any of your devices please be aware that there is a new version available today in the Microsoft Store, v 6.48. The MSIX file is available in the header of the Improvements Hub via the APK/MSIX button.

As noted in the November release notes, we have updated our supported document file types. The new version of the Windows App ensures parity so records submitted through the Windows App follow the same guidelines detailed below:

• Supported Uploaded Files & Attachments List Updated: To improve security, compatibility, and file management efficiency, we have set a defined set of file types for uploads and storage. Going forward, users can upload files in the following formats only:

  • Word Processing Files: .doc, .docx, .odt, .rtf, .txt

  • Spreadsheet Files: .xls, .xlsx, .ods, .csv

  • PDF Files: .pdf

  • Image Files: .png, .jpg, .jpeg, .bmp, .gif, .tiff, .tif, .svg

  • Other Document Formats: .xps, .gdoc

The new SafetyChain App in iOS and Android will be updated to support these file types at a later date. This release is only related to the Windows App.
