Important Update: M2 Deprecation Timeline & Mobile App v1.22 Release Date
M2 Deprecation Extension
Over the past several months, we've been working closely with our customers to transition from the legacy M2 mobile application to the new SafetyChain App. While adoption has steadily increased, we recognize that some customers need additional time to complete their migration.
To ensure a smooth transition for everyone, we are extending the M2 deprecation timeline to June 30, 2025. This extension gives you additional time to complete the transition while maintaining access to the tools your team needs.
Important Dates and Information
M2 App Download Window: We recommend completing any last-minute downloads of the M2 app to new devices by March 31, 2025. The iOS and Android app stores have their own guidelines and timelines for app availability, and we are subject to their policies regarding when the app may no longer be accessible for new installations.
M2 Functionality: Any devices that already have the M2 app installed will continue to function until June 30, 2025.
Next Steps
If your team has already migrated to the new SafetyChain App: There's nothing you need to do. You'll automatically receive the v1.22 update when it's released.
If you're still using M2: Now is the time to make the transition, so you have ample time to get comfortable with the new application before the June 30 deprecation date.
SafetyChain App v1.22 Release Change
Our latest releases have delivered major improvements, but we know many customers are still waiting for highly anticipated features that will achieve parity with M2, including Form Navigator and document attachments. There are also impactful bug fixes like resolving Direct Observation not carrying over with Submit and Repeat.
We want to keep you informed about an important update regarding the release of v1.22 of our mobile app:
Original Release Date: February 25, 2025
New Target Release Date: March 11, 2025 (pending completion of all quality testing protocols)
This decision was not made lightly, as we understand v1.22 includes major fixes that our customers are eagerly awaiting. However, we need more time to complete additional quality testing to ensure the stability and reliability of the release.
We believe that delaying these new capabilities is worth it when it means providing better system stability and app performance. By taking this additional time for testing, we're working to minimize future disruptions and ensure a seamless experience when the update is released.
