Daylight Saving Time Ends November 2: What to Expect and How We’ve Prepared
On Sunday, November 2nd, Daylight Saving Time ends and clocks will fall back one hour in some areas. In previous years, this time change has occasionally impacted task generation and scheduling within our system. This year, we have completed extensive improvements and testing to proactively address known issues. Below is a summary of what you can expect.
What You May See & What It Means
Tasks Occurring Twice (Duplicate-Looking Tasks)
When clocks fall back, the 1:00 AM–2:00 AM hour occurs twice. If you have interval-based tasks scheduled during that time, the system will correctly generate tasks for both occurrences of the hour.
- These are not true duplicates—they are legitimate tasks repeated because the hour happens twice.
- No action is required.
Tasks Temporarily Offset by One Hour
In the past, some tasks created before the time change and scheduled to generate after the time change appeared offset by one hour.
- Through recent updates and testing, this issue has been resolved in the system.
- In rare cases where a task does appear offset, the schedule will automatically correct itself on the next task generation cycle.
- You do not need to recreate any task schedules.
- No action is required.
Our Preparation
To ensure a smooth transition, we have:
- Upgraded and tested task scheduling logic specifically around the DST change.
- Simulated time-change scenarios across different time zones and task types.
- Validated correct task generation before, during, and after the time shift.
