Announcing SafetyChain App Version 1.21

On Tuesday, 2/4/2025, we will be releasing SafetyChain App version 1.21. This update includes fixes that resolve issues identified in previous versions, along with several enhancements to improve overall performance. Below, you will find a summary of the most notable updates, with a complete list of fixes at the end of this communication.

• BlueTherm Device Integration is here for Android: This much-anticipated feature enables wider adoption of the new SafetyChain App, including BlueTooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. It brings the SafetyChain App into parity with M2, and iOS support is coming soon!

• Forms are easier to fill out: If you miss something on a form, it will now automatically take you to the missing field so you can quickly complete it.

• Navigability improvements on Android devices: The ‘next’ button now collapses the keyboard when on the last input field of a form.

• Faster loading speed in Tasks: Improvements have been made to increase the responsiveness of the Tasks tab.

Bug Fixes:

Forms & Records:

• Saved Forms: We fixed an issue that could cause form data to be lost when using the device's back button.

• Form field validation: We resolved a problem where field validation wasn't always working as expected. This ensures your data is accurate before the record is submitted.

• Related Document access: We fixed an issue that was preventing some users from opening related documents.

• Date/Time calculations: We corrected inaccuracies in time calculations for tasks that span multiple days. The information you see is now accurate and consistent.

• Enhanced data entry: Optimized fields built with an input mask- particularly with complex input mask rules.

User Experience:

• Handheld scanner display issues (Android): There were critical display issues on handheld scanner devices after an update to Android 13. To support this we are temporarily restricting Android to Portrait mode only, pending further investigation. This change does not affect iOS devices.

App Performance & Reliability:

• Resource updates now synchronized: We resolved an issue where name changes to Resources weren't immediately reflected on mobile devices.

• Clearer messages about internet connection: You'll now see a helpful message if you try to access LINK without an internet connection.

• Task duplication: We fixed a bug that was causing some tasks to be duplicated.
