SafetyChain Module for Ignition 8.3

What’s New

SafetyChain's Module for Ignition automates the capture of machine data without a complex implementation, so customers can gain richer insight into what is happening on the plant floor at any given time — without disrupting production or requiring heavy customization.

In this release, we've introduced the SafetyChain Module for Ignition 8.3, which builds on the existing 8.1-supported integration and introduces two significant advances: full compatibility with Ignition 8.3 and Event Stream support for real-time data processing.

Compatibility with Ignition 8.3 For customers running the 8.1 Module, this upgrade ensures forward compatibility with Ignition's latest platform — keeping your integration on a supported, scalable foundation and giving you access to the latest capabilities Ignition 8.3 has to offer.

Event Stream Event Stream processes machine and process data in real time, triggering SafetyChain workflows instantly based on live events. It reduces latency between detection and action and scales efficiently for high-frequency data environments — enabling true exception-based quality management. Downtime events trigger immediate categorization workflows, quality deviations initiate corrective actions, and threshold breaches generate alerts the moment they occur.

Availability

The SafetyChain Module for Ignition 8.3 is available March 31, 2026. It is available as an add-on with the Essential package and is included with the Advanced package. Customers currently on the Ignition 8.1 Module can upgrade to access Ignition 8.3 compatibility and the new Event Stream capabilities — contact your Customer Success Manager to learn more.
